Active Shooter Instructor Course

This is a 5 day, 48 hour course that is a combination of the Enhanced Active Shooter Course and the Active Shooter Team Leader Course. Upon completion, students will have the information and techniques necessary to plan and implement thorough, on-going training at their respective agencies. Course topics also include policy implementation and course development. The focus of this course is "what to teach" not "how to teach", students should be practicing instructors with one or more instructor certifications to be eligible to attend.

Single Officer Active Shooter Instructor Course

This is a 5 day, 48 hour course that is a combination of the Single Officer Active Shooter Response Course and the Active Shooter Team Leader Course. Upon completion, students will have the information and techniques necessary to plan and implement thorough, on-going training at their respective agencies for single officer response. Course topics also include policy implementation and course development. The focus of this course is "what to teach" not "how to teach", so students should possess instructor certification(s) and be active instructors to attend.

Single Officer Active Shooter Response Course

This is a 3 day intensive scenario based course designed for single person response to an active shooter event. It is ideal for SROs and those rural agencies where waiting for a full team to arrive is not an acceptable option. Some topics include:

Enhanced Active Shooter Course

This is a 4 day 40 hour intensive, team oriented training course geared towards the patrol officer. This scenario based course covers the entire spectrum of the active shooter mission to the point of turning control over to tactical units. There is heavy emphasis on team building and communication throughout the training. Classes are about 30 percent classroom/70 percent practical exercises. Major topics include:

History
Equipment
Mental preparation
Human decision cycle
Exterior/Open air tactics
Breaching setups- exterior/interior
Hallway movement
Room Entries - 2 person/4 person
Collapsing/Searching a room
Medical contingencies

Active Terrorist Response Course

This is a 3 day intensive, team oriented training course geared toward the first responders. This course is designed to develop an awareness and preparedness to terror based active shooter events in order to have a higher likelihood of success in such an event. This course is designed to build upon those tactics and techniques taught in the Enhanced Active Shooter Course, so previous attendance is recommended.

Course topics include:

Terrorism terminology History of terrorism against U.S.
History of terror based active shooters Mindset (ours vs theirs)
Exterior Tactics Breaching (mechanical/shotgun)
Communications with gunfire Deploying in PPE
Room to room searching Multiple team room to room
Suicide bombers/explosives Basic hand to hand combat
Basic knife offense/defense Ballistics (external/terminal)

Active Shooter Team Leader Course

This is an 8 hour classroom presentation on leadership, geared towards an active shooter team leader or assistant team leader. Course topics cover general leadership, leading before the fight, leading during the fight, leading in training, planning, building and documenting training, and how to build lesson plans.

Cost: $125 per student.

Active Shooter Awareness for School Officials

This is a 4 hour classroom presentation that provides information to school administrators, principals, and vice principals on what a police response to an active shooter event may involve. Course topics covered include, history, typical police response plans and needs, what officials can expect from the police and what the police will expect of school officials in an event. Other topics include how to better prepare your staff and site, how to improve cooperation with police etc. This is not a "what to do" course but is informational only.

Cost: $60 per student.

Active Shooter Tactical Response Shooting

This is a two day intensive, team oriented, live fire training course that involves both pistol and urban rifle. Drills and tactics are geared around those that are taught in the Enhanced Active Shooter course. Attendees will experience all team formations and tactics live fire. Course topics include:

Ready positions Engaging multiple threats
Handgun transitions Active shooter team tactics
Moving and shooting Shooting under stress
Shooting at angles Shooting from cover
Exterior Tactics Hallway Movement
Corner Clears

Advanced Tactical Response Shooting

This is a one day intensive, team oriented, live fire training course that involves both pistol and urban rifle. Drills and tactics are geared around those that are taught in the Active Terrorist Response course. Attendees will experience all team formations and tactics live fire. Course topics include:

Close contact/cover drills Combative drills/falls
Strike and shoot Movement drills using cover
Live Fire CQB – Site dependent Shoot and scoot
Bounding overwatch Verbal and non-verbal techniques
Shooting with PPE

Cost: $150 per student.

Live Fire Active Shooter Instructor Course

This 5 day 48 hour course is a comprehensive live fire course that includes, fire and maneuver, corner clears, hallway movement, cqb, t-intersections, cover/contact and more. The course covers techniques for one person, two person, and full team deployments. Techniques practiced in this course are those that are covered in our Enhanced Active Shooter Course and One Person Response Course so previous attendance is recommended but not required. Students will also be expected to demonstrate teaching the techniques and running ranges drills while adhering to all necessary safety protocols. This class is not yet GSA approved.

Active Shooter Shotgun Breaching Course

This is a one day course will prepare first responders for the likelihood of a forced entry breach on an active shooter/active terrorist event. Students will learn safety protocols, carry methods, and deployment strategies of the shot gun as used for breaching.

Cost $175

Student Equipment needs:

1 box of bird shot (7 1/2 or 8)
5 00 buck rounds
5 Shok Lok or TKO rounds
A pump action shotgun with sling

Active Shooter Shotgun Breaching Instructor Course

This two day course on the first day will prepare first responders for the likelihood of a forced entry breach on an active shooter/active terrorist event.
