   AST instructors have been involved in the development and teaching of active shooter training programs since 2001. We believe that we have developed a set of courses that are top to bottom, the most complete active shooter training programs available today. Our company only specializes in training for the active shooter mission, so all of our resources go to making that training the highest quality possible. We also maintain a very high instructor to student ratio, which creates a strong learning environment for student officers. Our Enhanced Active Shooter Course is the root course for our training. All other courses are built around the foundation that this course provides to officers.

Since the tragedy at Columbine in 1999 most departments have initiated some form of active shooter training.  We all learned from that horrible tragedy and a change had to be made in police tactics when responding to these dynamic situations.  Most departments in the country don’t have SWAT teams that are readily available and most can take up to an hour to arrive on a call.
